The Internet is an open communication medium available to all. It not only allows us to easily communicate via email but also ensures access to different types of information which makes it an invaluable resource for education. However, just like other technology, the Internet opens the door to unwanted elements that could represent potential risks to young and vulnerable people.

At ISC, we are aware of the danger associated with the use of technology and its resources. For this reason, the school has invested in cybersecurity systems that help us keep our network protected. All ISC devices are equipped with internet security solutions to safeguard our resources from viruses, malware, ransomware, and other unwanted threats. These tools have helped us identify “suspicious” traffic originated from “infected” non-ISC devices (personal laptops, tablets, and smartphones).

For our ICT Department to minimize cyber risk, we are requesting all MS/HS students to have up-to-date internet security software installed on each device they will connect to the school’s network.

Important:

Parents/Students are responsible for the installation and keeping the software up-to-date and operational.
Only devices with the requested software will be allowed to join ISC’s network. An inventory will be performed the first day of school.
There is no guarantee that using any security program will keep your child’s device fully protected. However, having the solution reduce the chances to get infected with viruses and/or malware.
Many vendors offer free versions of this product; however, they have limitations that can affect the real-time protection.
